A Word From Our Founder
I am so excited to be able to reach you today. Play Today DC has been under development for quite some time. As a mom in Northern Virginia with two small boys, I know how difficult it can be to find and register for most any activity in this area. As an engineer working to solve capacity problems for a variety of industries, I knew there was a solution. And so began the process of developing www.PlayTodayDC.com.
I would like to introduce you to our team. We come from all over and from all different backgrounds — moms and dads local to Washington DC and a support team from around the US. All with one vision and one goal, to provide you with the single place to find a ton of stuff to do with your family, register for all types of activities, and enjoy the fun! We will continue to make our site better on a weekly basis and will continue to expand our scope of services and locations served over the coming months. Welcome to our site!
Founder, Play Today
Elisa Kepner, Founder
Elisa is not only a successful entrepreneur but a mom to two fantastic boys. She loves finding new things to do with her family in the DC area, but with her busy schedule she needed someone to help her "find the fun." Elisa knew other moms would also love a go-to website for children's activities and classes, and so Play Today DC was born.
Michelle Fraser, City Manager
Mom to two boys, Jackson and Nicholas (15 months apart!), Michelle and her husband Doug live in Vienna. When she's not working, you can find Michelle working out at the health club. As the second oldest grandchild of 60, Michelle was born to lead. She keeps everyone at Play Today on task as City Manager.
Kelly Hammond, Future Dallas City Manager
Mother of two, her 4 year old daughter keeps her running from preschool, to playdates, and ballet to swimming! Her little guy just joined the fun in August 2011! She enjoys spending time with her family exploring new and exciting things to do together, and occasionally partakes in "mommy juice/better know as know as wine" with her girlfriends as often as possible. She and her husband can't wait to travel the world again, this time with their kids along for the ride.
Jason Assaly, Business Development Manager
Jason is a relationship driven business developer who lives with his wife and 2 girls in what he calls the "estrogen ocean." The girls being 10 years apart - to the day! - gives Jason a unique perspective on what it means to find something fun for "everyone" to do. It has never been an easy task...UNTIL NOW!!!
Heidi Deishl, Senior Account Lead
Heidi is a mother of 4, with a daughter at Oregon State University, a daughter in high school who is on the girls varsity lacrosse team and boy/girl twins in middle school who are both in travel soccer. If the family is not at a kids' sporting event, they enjoy watching movies, golfing and traveling back west to visit family.
Christine Wilson, Marketing
Christine Wilson is a marketer, mommy to two boys, Ronan (4) and Declan (2), and wife to Ojg. She loves exploring the DC area with her boys and getting out for an occasional date night or dinner with girlfriends. When she isn't juggling Batman toys, sippy cups, diapers, and her iPhone, she enjoys catching up on the Real Housewives or listening to a good book on Audible. While sipping a glass of wine of course!
Kim Weber, Social Media
Mom to a 4 year old little girl and a baby boy, and wife to Bob, Kim and her family live in Fairfax. In her increasingly spare, spare time, she loves; spending time with family, taking her kids to Clemyjontri, organizing, watching Dance Moms, reading, and keeping her home as "green" as she possibly can. She's 50% Floridian, 50% Chicagoan, but loving life in Northern Virginia.
Linda Wilson, Account Lead
Linda and her husband, Mark have lived in Herndon for the past 20 years. Their children, Halle and Jack, 15 and 11, have enjoyed many Fairfax County clubs, classes, sports and events over the years. Linda graduated from the University of Maryland's school of business and spent over 15 years in Medical Sales. After the kids came along, she also took an active roll in various PTA organizations and many, many school volunteer positions (room mom anyone?) Linda spends her free time working out with her friends at Sport & Health and making Shutterfly scrapbooks.
